The 369th ft Regiment served in field War I as the first all-black US combat unit to be shipped overseas. all told though the sol faintrs werent supported by US citizens they were sent over to europium by the War Department in December 1917. All over Europe young men were fighting against the cardinal Powers, but the 369th Infantry Regiment werent given an formal combat role because of their skin color. And as thousands of men die & adenylic acid; units requested new soldiers, the 369ths were left out of the battlefield. The Infantry later received good news; General whoremonger J. Pershing who led the American Expeditionary Forces assigned the 369ths to the cut host (April 1918). The 1st African American combat unit was waiver to war!
Soon after the 369th stepped foot in the French battle field they were nicknamed the Harlem Hell Fighters by the German Army. tally to the Germans, the soldiers never had any men captured or ground interpreted during the 191 days of duty at the front. After this event, the French government awarded the entire group with the Croix de Guerre. The Hell Fighters have proved that they were sure-footed of doing everything, & more, that every other unit could do.




As the days advanced, the 369th proved to be skilled at fighting & gained popularity in France. They were even chosen to lead the French in high spirits command, leading all allied forces to the line. still the fighting had to place to an end, Germany finally gave up & on November 11, 1918 the Armistice took place. But the Harlem Hell Fighters were given another task. On November 26th, multiple units report on the banks of the Rhine River. The Harlem Hell Fighters proved their excellence & value one last time during the war by beingness the first unit on the banks.
