Who was the first chairperson of U.S?
Everyone knows that Washington had sworn in 1789, still the revolutionary war ended in 1781. During these years, the United States was slant by the disorderly Articles of Confederation. The intent of the Articles was to combine thirteen respectively run states into an independent nation. This document was deedu anyy proposed on June 11, 1776, solely not agreed upon by Congress until November 15, 1777. Once the all signing took place in 1781, a chair was indispensable to run the country. John Hanson was chosen by Congress; in fact, all the other potential candidates refused to run against him, as he was a major player in the revolution and an extremely influential member of Congress. Yet John Hanson is considered the first President provided because he was the first person select to a full term after the adoption of the Articles of Confederation. Hanson did not address office until November 5, 1781. Samuel Huntington, who was President of the Continental Congress from 1779-1781, presided over the substantiation celebration in March 1781. He continued to act as the head of the government until Thomas McKean was elected.



McKean held the position for only a few months. Further confusing the situation was that Samuel Johnson was elected to the position between Huntington and McKean, but he refused to serve.
